Alas getting started on this section.
Goal is update regularly on some research topic.
The first news to get started is the defence of my Habilitation on Dec. 19th, 2025.
Off we go for new horizons.
On the subject, should you be interested in working on one of the following subjects, you should get in touch with me:
- Source transform algorithmic differentiation and memory management (how should free's and malloc's be handled, how about implementing a good strategy for garbage collector)
- Differentation and use of monotonicity implying similarity measures for image registration / recognition. This is an important task in machine vision and image recognition and specific measures (e.g. scaled distance transforms, distance transforms, discrepancy norms; will also use Fourier analysis and numerical optimisation on the way)
- Optimal checkpointing: we've developed a tool for analysing the costs / benefits of certain checkpointing configurations. But how reliable are these estimations against other, yet unknown, configurations. (this will include some work on optimisation models and logistic regression)
